Seychelles Helicopter Tour of Silhouette Island
During this Seychelles Helicopter Tour of Silhouette Island you will enjoy the seclusion and privacy of the Grande Barbe beach.
Silhouette Island – the third largest granitic island in the Seychelles is located 20 kilometers northwest of the island of Mahe. It is home to hundreds of endemic birds, reptiles, threatened plants and two extinct species of turtle which were re-discovered in 1995. Silhouette is considered to be one of the richest biodiversity points in the Western Indian Ocean. The island is mountainous with five peaks over 1,600 feet in elevation. Thus making the walking trails more adventurous and closer to exploring nature.
There are 3 villages on the island populated by 200 people namely; Grande Barbe on the West Coast side and Anse Mondon and La Passe on the East Coast side But on this tour, you will discover more about Grande Barbe as one of the most scenic places to see on Silhouette Island.
The Grande Barbe trail takes around three hours to complete. The starting point is at La Passe and ends at the secluded Grande Barbe Beach. Adorned with sparkling sand and azure water, this spectacular beach is ideal for romantic couples looking for seclusion and privacy. However, it is not suitable for swimming and snorkeling due to strong undercurrents. Sea turtles can be spotted on the beach during the months from November to February.
The Grande Barbe trail is definitely a challenging but rewarding trail on Silhouette Island! For this Seychelles Helicopter Tour of Silhouette Island guests are requested to bring their own picnic basket for their lunch and refreshments.
