Snorkeling in Seychelles
One gets to enjoy the most thrilling and spectacular marine life whilst snorkeling in crystal clear Seychelles waters. In addition, as the waters around the islands are protected, the sea and coral life continues to grow and bustle. This is regardless of the increase in tourist numbers.
Anse Lazio, Praslin Island
The secluded beach itself is magnificent. The average white sandy Seychelles beach along with the glistening sea can easily blind you if not wearing sunglasses. This beach is the quintessential paradise beach.
However, what you will love about Anse Lazio is what is beneath the surface of the turquoise ocean. Follow the stone line to the left of the beach and you might bump into the resident male turtle. Those turtles are so used to humans that you may swim right next to him for a really sensational experience. There is also a lot going on here – rare corals, ray fish that look like they have been from another planet. It’s an excellent water world which you will fall in love with.
Anse Source D’argent
The water is so clear. It’s like it has been poured from a bottle. The depth of the water increases so very gradually making it ideal for snorkeling. As the water depth is only waist deep one can get very close and even personal with the fish.
You certainly are so close to the fish as you work your way around the coral, but the fish do not care you’re there. If you’re fortunate, you’ll encounter an angry little trigger fish. Being so close and involved with this wonderful underwater world gives you an appreciation of marine life and the sea itself. It is only so inherently beautiful and calming.
Bird Island
Bird Island provides some of the purest and most natural sightings from the Seychelles. This unique coral island is admired for its amazing diverse birdlife and unspoiled beaches, but it’s the marine life that is so special. Whilst walking around Bird Island you may encounter turtles. They are generally seen in remarkable numbers.
