Cousin Curieuse St. Pierre Islands

Curieuse Island_Barbeque

Cousin Curieuse St. Pierre Islands

Enjoy a day trip cruising from Praslin between Cousin, Curieuse and St.Pierre islands. Each of these three islands have its own diversity.

What’s included:

  • Transfer from and to your hotel
  • Motor Boat transfers between Cousin, Curieuse & St. Pierre Islands
  • BBQ Lunch on the beach
  • Snorkeling equipments

Our cruiser moors off-shore and tourists are taken to the island on a Reserve boat. This is a precaution to prevent accidental introduction of pests to Cousin island.

Cousin Island:

The first stop is on Cousin Island. It is a Nature Reserve covering 69 hectares and is 2km from Praslin. It was purchased in 1968 by the International Council for the Protection of Birds (ICBP), now known as Birdlife International. The main reason was to save the remaining population of the Seychelles Warblers. You will also meet our ginormous tortoise friends George and Jonathan. You won’t find any wild animals here in Seychelles but it’s advisable to put on some mosquito repellent!!

Curieuse Island:

Curieuse Island originally named “Ile Rouge” due to its red colored soil. It is home to hundreds of giant tortoises and the unique Coco de Mer palms . You can follow a trail path around the island. Many different types of vegetation such as mangroves and land animals will be discovered. After the walk one can enjoy a nice sumptuous creole barbeque along the beach.

St Pierre Island:

After Curieuse, the trip continues to St. Pierre Island. The rest of the day is spent snorkeling around the tiny island of St Pierre. The underwater world and the abundance of marine life at St. Pierre is truly superb.
